Something special is happening and I want to tell you all about it. On July 5th between 1pm to 3pm there will be free showings of The Cohodes Family Historic 1966 Bexley 4th of July Parade Short Film. The free showings will be on a Huge LED XL screen in front of the Bexley Historical Society’s Cottage Museum at 2080 Clifton Avenue just outside the Bexley Pool with free popcorn for all.
I discovered this Super 8 film canister and had it transferred on a flash drive only to discover an astonishing historical Bexley treasure and family heirloom of the 1966 Bexley 4th of July Parade. The 1960’s was a time where The United States of America was at the height of the space race against the Soviet Union. We were going to the moon and in the parade you will see a huge Gemini Space rocket float that is simply stunning.
I’m very proud of this short film that Mills James helped in its post production. It’s our family’s immense pleasure to donate this short film to the Bexley Historical Society. I hope to see all of you on July 5th from 1pm to 3pm to watch this 60 year old historical gem!
