The Bullitt Park School, commonly called the Main Street School, opened in 1907. It replaced the Pleasant Ridge School, built in 1875, which was small and outdated.

Bullitt Park School initially served the elementary grades. In 1917, two portable structures were added for Junior High School students – 7th and 8th graders.

When Cassingham Elementary/Junior High opened in 1927, only elementary aged students who lived west of Drexel Avenue continued to attend the Bullitt Park School.

This school closed in 1946, when the remaining students were assigned to Cassingham Elementary. The building was used, at times, by Capital University until it was razed in 1956.
