When Bexley’s City Hall was dedicated, April 5, 1952, it was debt free. This was due to the planning of Mayor William Schneider. When he took office in 1935, Mayor Schneider began setting aside certain tax income to be used to build a new city hall.

Bexley City Hall, razed in 2015 to make way for the construction of a grocery store, is now located in Bexley Square and with the same address dating back to both the Village Hall and the razed City Hall, 2242 East Main Street.
