My Uncle Buddy was employed by a downtown shoe factory. Every summer he would invite my family to his work party. The event took place at Norwood Amusement Park at Alum Creek and Main Street. I remember a fun day of games, rides and food. Now, fifty years later, the site is Pump House Park.
Norwood Amusement Park had little cars, boats, a Ferris wheel, Dodge ’em, and a little train that ran into the wooded area. It also had games of chance, including BB guns, Skee-ball and a Tilt-O-Whirl. The lower area, near the creek, had picnic tables and a shelter.
